Pedestrian dies in Toronto 2-car accident

A Toronto two-car collision left a pedestrian dead and three people injured on Aug. 7. The pedestrian accident occurred on Yonge Street near the intersection of Cummer Avenue around 4:15 p.m. when a Dodge Charger and an Acura TSX collided. The force of the impact sent the Charger off the roadway, where it struck a 42-year-old man, fatally injuring him.

Toronto police say distracted driving accidents on are the rise

According to Toronto police, traffic accidents caused by distracted drivers are on the rise. The number of drivers described as “inattentive” in city collision data grew by 50 per cent between 2000 and 2012. About 20 per cent of those collisions resulted in some form of injury. Approximately 200 injures were considered major, and 12 deaths were reported as well.

Toronto bus-pedestrian accident results in woman’s death

A pedestrian accident in Toronto on July 28 has resulted in the death of woman. The accident occurred around 6 a.m. at the intersection of Humberline Drive and Finch Avenue in Rexdale. A woman in her 20s was attempting to cross the street from the southeast corner of Finch and Humberline. At the same time, a Brampton bus was traveling south on Humberline Drive. According to a staff sergeant, the bus was in the process of making a left turn onto Finch Avenue when it struck the woman, trapping her underneath the bus.

Ontario truck accident kills 2, seriously injures 1

Two people were killed and another was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash in Halton Hills on July 14. By the following day, no one had been charged in relation to the commercial vehicleaccident, which involved a dump truck, but an investigation by a collision reconstruction unit was underway.

Ontario auto-pedestrian accident injures 3

Two women were hospitalized July 8 after a truck struck them as they were unloading a parked van in Barrhaven. Several people present at the scene of the auto-pedestrian accident helped one of the women after she became trapped under the truck. The 34-year-old woman who was driving the business truck that struck the pedestrians suffered an arm injury and was also taken to hospital in stable condition.

Pedestrian dies in pickup truck crash, driver charged

An Ontario man has been charged with impaired driving and criminal negligence following a pickup truck accident that killed a pedestrian. Police say that the auto accident happened in the early hours of July 5 in St. Catharines after a police pursuit was cancelled over safety concerns.

Highway 401 crash injures 3, kills 1

Ontario Provincial Police say that three people were injured and one man was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Highway 401. The car crash occurred in the westbound lanes in Whitby at around 10:30 a.m. on June 24 and involved a transport truck, a bus and two cars. The westbound transport truck struck a westbound Toyota Corolla, shearing off the back of the car. A Setra bus and a Pontiac became involved in a crash after the initial accident.
