SUV crashes into bank, only 1 injured

Police are saying that driver error was the reason that an SUV crashed into a TD bank in a Toronto suburb. On May 16, shortly before 7 a.m., two people were inside the building using the ATMs when the vehicle came through the window, and one of them suffered minor injuries to her leg. The bank is located at Winston Churchill Boulevard and Aquitaine Avenue at Meadowvale Town Centre in Mississauga.

2 hurt in Toronto motorcycle-pedestrian accident

Ontario report on pedestrian safety released

The second most dangerous city for pedestrians in Ontario has recently conducted a study on pedestrian accident collisions. A city councillor in Hamilton was seeking additional information on traffic accidents and the possible impact of changing one-way streets to streets with traffic travelling both directions. He also wondered if walkers with ear buds contributed to accidents, but that information was unavailable because of a lack of detail in available police reports.

Woman awaits sentencing in pedestrian accident

A 42-year-old woman who was reportedly speeding and distracted allegedly caused a one-car accident that inflicted serious injuries on a man mowing a lawn by a rural road. She is scheduled to be sentenced in an Ontario Court after she pleaded guilty to a charge of dangerous driving at an earlier hearing. Recently, the man who was injured in the accident explained that he does not want the driver to be incarcerated. The defence lawyer for the woman agreed and said that she made a mistake, is sorry for her actions and has no criminal history. She also expressed her regret during proceedings.

Man charged in fatal crash has prior conviction on his record

Some residents of Toronto may have heard about the recent hit-and-run incident that took place in Calgary. A 26-year-old man died at about 4 a.m. on Feb. 17 after having been struck by a vehicle near 40th Avenue North. The 25-year-old driver fled the scene of the auto-pedestrian accident at that time, but later returned to turn himself in. He has been charged with hit and run causing death.

Ontario accidents claim 3 lives

In what was listed as Toronto’s first traffic fatality of 2014, a 39-year-old woman died when a vehicle hit her as she walked across the street on Jan. 19. Authorities reported that a 19-year-old man was driving a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am near Northcliffe Boulevard and Eglinton Avenue West when his vehicle struck her at about 9:45 p.m. While police do not anticipate filing charges for the auto-pedestrian accident, they were still investigating the fatality at the time of the report.

Ontario man charged in fatal hit-and-run

According to Peel Regional Police, a Mississauga man who allegedly struck a pedestrian and then left the scene has been charged with failing to remain on the scene of an accident causing death. The driver reportedly left the scene of the auto-pedestrian accident without making any attempt to offer aid to the seriously injured man. The pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The fatal accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Morning Star Drive and Goreway Drive in Malton on Jan. 11.
