Mother and father sue GM after son dies

In April, the parents of an Ontario man who died in a 2012 auto accident at the age of 22 lent their voices to a class action lawsuit. They joined numerous others in suing General Motors Canada over the way that the American automaker dealt with recall notices that ultimately affected 1.6 million vehicles across the globe and more than 230,000 in Canada alone. Reports did not say whether all of the lawsuits were related to fatal motor vehicle accidents or personal injury accidents.

2 hurt in Toronto motorcycle-pedestrian accident

An accident in Toronto involving a car and a motorcycle has resulted in a pedestrian and motorcycle rider being hospitalized. The auto-pedestrianan accident took place on Yonge Street near Pleasant Boulevard, approximately one block south of St. Clair Avenue, on April 6.

Ontario report on pedestrian safety released

The second most dangerous city for pedestrians in Ontario has recently conducted a study on pedestrian accident collisions. A city councillor in Hamilton was seeking additional information on traffic accidents and the possible impact of changing one-way streets to streets with traffic travelling both directions. He also wondered if walkers with ear buds contributed to accidents, but that information was unavailable because of a lack of detail in available police reports.
